Welcome
Thank you for choosing to study the violin with Amy. This studio is a safe, inclusive space for all students, whether pursuing professional goals, rediscovering their musical voice, or adapting to physical limitations. I am committed to supporting your growth through individualized instruction rooted in empathy, artistry, and accessibility.
Studio Philosophy
As a violinist navigating disability and adaptive performance, I understand that each journey is unique. My teaching integrates traditional technique with flexible, personalized approaches for students with hypermobility, upper body weakness, or injury. The goal is not only musical excellence, but sustainable, joyful musicianship for all bodies.

Studio Calendar & Summer Study
This studio follows a flexible academic-year schedule. While there is no official “summer break,” lesson schedules may shift slightly in the summer months due to performance, travel, or academic commitments.
Students are encouraged to continue their studies year-round to maintain progress until attending summer music festivals. For those interested in structured summer improvement—especially current UNT students or pre-college students preparing for auditions—a customized Three-Month Summer Plan is available. This includes:
- Goal setting (technical, musical, or repertoire-based)
- Flexible scheduling around travel or summer programs
- Optional studio check-ins or recordings for feedback (see services)
Please reach out in May or early June to reserve your summer plan and secure your lesson time. Or, fill out the opt-out form if you are attending another summer program.
Performance Opportunities
- Students are encouraged to participate in studio recitals, festivals, and masterclasses.
- Adaptive performance opportunities are available for students with accessibility needs.
- A Virtual Showcase Concert for students and teachers is available each quarter of the year.
